Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-10-19. These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Targa (“Targa”, “we”, “us”) about the @HeyTargaBot Telegram bot, the dashboard at app.targa.dev and this website (the “Service”). By creating an account or adding the bot to a group you administer, you agree to them.
Who provides Targa
Targa is provided by its founder, who operates the Service personally until the company that will take over Targa is incorporated. When it is, these terms will name the company, its address and its registration details, the transfer of the Service to it will be announced in the dashboard before it takes effect, and your rights under these terms will not change with it.
The service
Targa protects Telegram groups from spam and scams through the bot, with a dashboard to configure protection and see what it did. Targa checks every message automatically; which checks run depends on the plan (see the pricing page). Each plan's features, monthly message limits and prices are those shown on the pricing page. If your account reaches its plan's monthly limit, protection pauses in your groups until the month resets, unless you upgrade or add extra messages. If Targa's comprehensive review is briefly unavailable, the rules keep running and waiting messages are read when it returns.
The private beta
Targa is in a private beta: most new accounts need an invitation. Features, limits and plans may change at short notice during the beta, and we will say so plainly when they do.
Your account
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You must give a valid email address, keep your password confidential, and you are responsible for what happens under your account. You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard.
Acceptable use
Connect only groups you administer and have the authority to protect with a third-party bot. Use the Service only in ways that comply with the law and with Telegram's Terms of Service. Don't use Targa to harass or watch individuals, to reach data for groups or accounts you don't control, to probe, scrape or disrupt the Service, to study the detection engine in order to evade it, or to resell the Service without our agreement. We may suspend or end accounts that break these rules.
Your group, your decisions
Targa enforces from the first message in a newly protected group: it removes messages and can mute, kick or ban members on its own. You can switch a group to shadow mode, where Targa only watches and logs, or turn off “Let Targa remove messages on its own”, so that the AI's verdicts are only listed for your moderators. You are responsible for how moderation is applied in your groups and for having the authority to apply it. You must tell the group's members that it is protected by Targa, an automated moderator that uses AI to read messages, for example in the group's description or a pinned message; Targa's own notices in the group help, but the duty is yours. Every action is logged with its reasons, and every removal, mute, kick or ban can be undone from the notice or the dashboard.
Detection accuracy
No anti-spam system is perfect. Targa may miss spam and may sometimes act on a legitimate message; its scores and verdicts are automated judgments, not guarantees. Shadow mode lets you watch what Targa would do before it acts, and the activity log shows the reasons behind every action.
Paid plans
Paid plans are not on sale yet, and nobody is charged. When they go on sale, the rules in this section apply to them, and the checkout shows you the seller, the price and any tax before you pay.
A paid plan is billed monthly or yearly and renews until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in the dashboard; cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and we tell you before a yearly plan renews. On paid plans you can add extra messages past your monthly limit, by hand or automatically up to a monthly ceiling you set; they are billed at the rate on the pricing page when they are added and are valid until the month resets. Extra messages are subject to fair use: sustained volume far beyond a plan's monthly limit may require moving to the plan that fits. 30 days of a plan or a pack of extra messages can also be paid in Telegram Stars through the bot, under Telegram's terms for Stars; these do not renew. Price changes apply to new purchases and, for subscriptions, from your next billing period, never within a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you before a change applies to you.
Withdrawal and refunds. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of making it, without giving a reason, by telling us through Support; if you asked us to start the plan at once, you pay for the days it ran and we refund the rest within 14 days. Apart from that, fees are not refundable, except that if the Service is unavailable for a sustained period through our fault we refund the unused part of the current period on request, and except where the law requires a refund. Purchases made in Telegram Stars are refunded in Stars through the bot.
Intellectual property
We own the Service and everything in it except your content. You keep all rights to the settings and text you provide (rules, welcome messages, notes, patterns) and give us the licence needed to store and apply them to run the Service. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation.
Third-party services
The Service runs on Telegram's platform and depends on providers we don't control, including the AI model providers. Changes to Telegram, actions Telegram takes about your group or the bot, or an outage at a provider may affect the Service, and we are not responsible for them.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, what the AI receives and how long we keep it. It is part of these terms.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will catch all spam. We don't commit to a service level on any plan.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Targa is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service, including moderation actions taken or not taken in your groups. Our total liability for all claims about the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or US$50. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
If you are a consumer, nothing in this section or the one before it limits rights that the law of the country where you live gives you and does not allow to be excluded, and the exclusions apply only as far as that law allows. In particular, we remain fully liable for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for damage we cause intentionally or by gross negligence.
Indemnity
If your use of the Service in breach of these terms leads to a claim against us by someone else, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages arising from that claim.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the bot from your groups and deleting your account. We may suspend or end access for breach of these terms, for legal reasons, if we reasonably believe an account puts the Service or other users at risk, or if we discontinue the Service, in which case we will give reasonable notice in advance. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity) survive.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. We update the date at the top and, for material changes, show a notice in the dashboard before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept it.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the country where the provider of Targa (see Who provides Targa) is established, and its courts have jurisdiction over disputes about them. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live and may bring a claim before its courts. We do not take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration body and are not obliged to.
General
These terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of the Service.
